This is a card I received in the mail. Actually I forgot to check my mail this weekend and just pulled it out of the box this very cold, blustery, snowy and yet awe inspiring beautiful Monday morning.

This weekend was pretty good. I worked Saturday and then decided to do a very big NOTHING day with the kids. Lloyd went to visit friends and Michael came over later to share in some dinner, played video games with his little brothers, watched a movie and did some YouTube surfing.

Sunday was church. Smaller gathering than normal because of the weather. And then Lloyd and I went shopping. He helped me pick out some real exercise/running shoes and some better ‘work out’ clothes so I look a bit better when I teach :). Then off to Wegmans. It is a good thing I do not live closer to this store. Lloyd and I had just a bit too much fun picking out items we normally don’t get to have for dinners and lunches this week. AND Michael and Lloyd and I finally turned in our registrations for the Warrior Dash. We are part of a team that will raise money for the local Hermitage House that works with teens.

In the mix of all of this Galen was feeling a little off and just wanted to rest yesterday, Cian was being his spunky self, and as I watched both of them I remembered that this would have been the weekend Dean and I would have ventured off to a rather large Home and Garden Show about a 2 hour drive from here. Was a bit of our way every year to feel less couped up and take some time dreaming of summer and buying new seeds and some type of plant we as of yet did not have — dream of Spring. One trip many years ago we came home with a green house kit that he built behind the house. I was missing that trip, the day out, the dreaming and planning of Spring, taking photos of all the new ideas … Dean… and then I open this card that is pictured above.

Flowers — just because. 🙂 And from Dean’s friend and Roommate in Columbus. I could be wrong but they look like Zinas. The flower we planted around the one little pond the last two summers. Seeds bought from the Home Show.

I love just becauses. Texts, pictures, hugs, messages, calls, smiles … cards with flowers.

Ever notice that when you are prodded to do a “just because” it always seems to be at just the right time?

Ever notice that the most spontaneous things seem to be the most correct?

Thanks Jude .. not only for the card, and the smile it brought, but also for reminding me to not hold back my own “just because” for others.

Smile!
