“…life is always reminding you when you are in tune with yourself and when you are not. When you feel good, what you are doing matches your song, and when you feel awful, it doesn’t. In the end, we shall all recognize our song and sing it well. You may feel a little warbly at the moment, but so have all the great singers. Just keep singing and you’ll find your way home”

The above quote of from the blog on the following link and I totally recommend its reading in entirety. The link to that blog is below.

It is an interesting thought that we all have a song that is very much a part of our internal spirit. It seems, however, that we may not always know the entire song. It seems that even though it is recognized, that there is more that needs to be uncovered and learned and expressed during our lifetime.

There are dreams and manifestations of dreams. There are people that come in and out of our lives that may change and even enhance the melody when we take the lessons to heart and integrate them into our very being.

We even have the ability to add another movement or two to the piece started before our earthly birth. Sometimes it is necessary to allow an influence in our music to fade — perhaps part of the harmony remains, but the instrumentation may need to be different from time to time showing our eternal growth and learning process.

Dean passed into Spirit almost 9 months ago. His melody enhanced mine into a beautiful harmonious creation. This coming up Saturday would have been his 43rd birthday. His song will forever be a part of mine. Yet, this past Sunday, during my ordination, there was a definite shift in the orchestration that makes up me. A recognition that I am more, that I need to be more, that I have the ability to share more. That in letting go of some of the things I have been hanging on to I do not diminish Dean, his time here or the lessons that he brought to those around him and carried with him into Spirit, I allow them to soar and I allow myself to soar onto a new tempo, with a few minor chords for character. There is a crescendo that I was probably a little afraid to express.

Really, no turning back now. I joked that saying “I DO” to ministry was my coming out of the closet day. Really no hiding anymore. Letting go does not mean forgetting, it does not mean one stops loving. It does, however, bring out the best of the music we are meant to share.
