When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long,
And you think that love it only
For the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the sun’s love
In the spring becomes the rose.
We are all seeds waiting for the right condition to come into full bloom

I attended the World Congress of Spiritualist just yesterday. This is the first such meeting attempted by Spiritualists Worldwide in 50 years. There were people from the USA, South Africa, Ecuador, Canada, Great Britain and some more I did not have a chance to meet.

There were speeches from those of larger Spiritualist Organizations around the world and a chance for the congress to comment on the proposals brought about by those who have restarted the International Congress.

What I enjoyed most about the day was that the blooming seed could be tangibly felt. There was a recognition that since Spiritualists are by nature a free thinking group it has been hard to come together at all  — and yet the central core of the religion is to be able to share ideas and experiences without judgement of another. It was recognized that we all use different words for God (Divine, Universe, All Knowing, Spirit, …)  and that vocabulary should no longer stand in the way that we are all ONE under that God. It was recognized that our unique religion goes beyond that of common dogmas in that it allows for those to find their own pathway with God. The one constant is that it is understood that Life is a never ending process of learning about and with the unconditional love that got us here in the first place.

I also love the recognition that one does not have to belong to one particular church or another in order to hold and have this knowing and be supported by this organization.

It was absolutely wonderful to hear so many different voices at the microphone giving suggestions as to how we can move forward as a people united in one Love and how to keep the communication, news and flowing through the world so that ideas and happenings of service, education and opportunities for growth travel around the globe enriching everyone.

At its core there was a wish for worldwide communication and world wide service at a grass roots level. There was a recognition that those who brought the name and the religion ‘Spiritualism’ into being were at first advocates of Justice and Peace first in their individual communities and then worldwide. There is a recognition that going back to gatherings where a speaker would share his/her philosophy and have time for healing/prayer and fellowship is as necessary as taking care of those who are hurting physically, emotionally and spiritually.

This day for me was up-liftment in knowing that many of the things I hold dear to my heart are alive and well in the hearts of many others. I also was very bolstered to know that groups like Bolts of Love (boltsoflove.com) that I have the honor to coordinate are part of the people that the Congress are interested in bringing into the conversation and meeting as a way to bring people together that understand that Love is the way and that Life will go on when we leave here allowing Love and growth of that Love to continue.

Was great to be apart of the seed that was planted yesterday. Was great to be apart of both reliving history and marching into the future as a steward of Spirit.
